Flanging Machine
(Max.Dia 5000 mm x 30 mm.thk.)
Poly Centric Dished Heads Ellipsoidal Dished Heads

Deep Drawing
In deep drawing the plate blank is pressed through a drawing ring. This method is suitable for small dished heads and large series, each profile and diameter requires different tools. For further information as to the dies available, please contact our sales representatives.

Flanging
In this manufacturing method the blank is first dished in a hydraulic press to meet the pherical radius of the end in question. Thereafter the knuckle radius is flanged in a flanging machine. This manufacturing method is most frequently used by us due to its flexibility in manufacturing dished heads to any intermediate diameter or profile.

High Performance Flanging
In this method, the dished heads are spun all the way against actual size formers from circular blanks, each dished heads shape and diameter needs its own tool, and therefare spinning to fixed dimensions is a particularly economical manufacturing method for a large series.

  Specification of Sutee Dished Heads
Geometric Relations
OD = outside diameter ID = inside diameter
R = crown radius r = knuckle radius
t = wall thickness h = height of dished portion (straight flange not incl.)
SF = straight flange IH = total inside height
It is up to the buyer to calculate the wall thickness and to select the material.

GENERAL FORMULA:
Blank Plate Diameter is equal to the length of the straight line along the inside curve of the Dished Heads plate across its central point.

XY = ID/2 - r, OX = R - r
Ø1 = Sin XY / OX , Ø2 = 90° - Ø1
L1 = Ø1 x R x 0.01745 (0.01745 = 2 ,¶ / 360°)
L2 = Ø2 x r x 0.01745
Blank Plate Diameter (BPD) = 2 (L1+ L2+L1)
Provided , if SF ≤ 30 mm , l should be taken as 30 mm.
If SF > 30 mm , l should read as it is.

SUTEE SIMPLIFIED FORMULA:
ED-TYPE, BPD = (ID X 1:22) + 30
DD-TYPE, BPD = (ID X 1.22) + 30
SD-TYPE, BPD = (ID X 1.143) + 30
FH-TYPE, BPD = (2L1+L2+30 (2L1 = ¶ x (r + t), L2 = ID - 2r
